Description:
Preparing, cooking, and presenting food according to established recipes and standards, ensuring food safety and sanitation, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
- Prep and prepare patient meal periods according to menu, dietary restrictions and recipes provided.
- Receive and communicate all patient order changes to supervisor and cook on duty.
- Ensure that all patient censes are documents correctly and accounted for if working a weekend shift.
- Ensure HACCP and production temp logs are accurately filled out and up to date.
- Assist in cleaning and sanitizing the kitchen per cleaning list and initial duties upon completion and any arising tasks.
- Ensure all nutrition room re-stocked and properly documented when working weekend shift.
- Perform other duties requested by food service supervisor and director.
Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Food Handling certification.
- 2 yrs experience preferred
- Previous experience in health care preferred.
- Be able to cook a variety of foods in large quantities and be familiar with seasoning required and cooking time involved.
- Have firsthand knowledge of cooking characteristics of various cuts of meat and know names and contents of various types of dishes.
- Be able to make simple estimates relative to quantities of food required.
- Ability to read, write and speak and follow all oral written directions.
