Earl “Mac” Marshall, MD
Earl “Mac” Marshall, MD, brings a rich tapestry of medical expertise and hands-on experience that spans nearly three decades. Currently immersed in a fellowship in Women’s Health and Obstetrics at Promedica Monroe Regional Hospital, Dr. Marshall is further honing his skills in family medicine, focusing on obstetrics. His fellowship program includes extensive procedural training, where he has become proficient in critical procedures such as vaginal deliveries, Cesarean sections as the primary surgeon, and various reproductive health procedures, including D&Cs, colposcopies, and IUD placements.
Before his fellowship, Dr. Marshall completed his Family Medicine Residency at Promedica Monroe, where he gained practical, patient-focused skills and delivered over 100 babies while assisting in more than 80 Cesarean surgeries. His journey in medicine began in Texas, where he earned his medical degree from Texas A&M University Health Science Center. Prior to medical school, Dr. Marshall completed his Bachelor’s in Nursing at the University of Texas at Arlington, a foundation that equipped him with a compassionate, patient-centered approach to care.
Dr. Marshall’s medical journey started in the world of emergency medicine. Beginning as a paramedic and firefighter in the early 1990s, he spent years in pre-hospital emergency care, responding to life-threatening situations and providing rapid, decisive care in high-stakes settings. His early work as a firefighter-paramedic led him to pursue an Associate’s degree in Nursing at Lone Star College, where he graduated magna cum laude. From there, he progressed to roles as an ER nurse, gaining valuable experience managing emergency cases and training as an ER charge nurse at Kingwood Medical Center. This experience served him well as he stepped into an Operations Manager role at River Oaks and Katy Emergency Centers, where he coordinated care and led teams in free-standing emergency settings.
In 2020, Dr. Marshall returned to Promedica Monroe as an Associate Director in the Family Medicine Residency Program. Here, he took on a dual role: managing clinical care and guiding new residents in their medical journeys. He supervised residents in both outpatient clinics and newborn nursery settings, sharing his practical knowledge and instilling a strong work ethic in the next generation of physicians.
Dr. Marshall is licensed to practice medicine in both Texas and Michigan, and he holds numerous certifications, including Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO), Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP), and certifications in Advanced Cardiac and Pediatric Life Support. These certifications underscore his commitment to maintaining a high level of competency in both emergency and maternal-fetal health.
Outside of his professional life, Dr. Marshall is deeply involved in his community. Since 2019, he has served as the Committee Chair and Chartered Organization Representative for BSA Troop 439G, a role through which he mentors young people and fosters community engagement. When he’s not working or volunteering, Dr. Marshall enjoys spending quality time with his family, hunting, cooking, camping, and swimming.
Dr. Marshall’s career is a testament to his unwavering commitment to patient care, his adaptability in diverse healthcare settings, and his dedication to the continuous improvement of his medical skills.
