Insurance Billing & Follow Up Clerk is responsible for checking status of filed insurance claims (including Medicare; Medicaid, Commercial insurance) until paid or rejected and appealing claims when necessary; prepares and submits clean claims; ensures timely and accurate filing; assists in registration process as needed , as well as back-up to other billers and posts payments when needed; receives and resolves patient inquires in a professional manner; and adaptability to performing a variety of duties without loss of efficiency or composure. Follows all work processes, procedures, while maintaining compliance to the rules and regulations set forth by the company. Strives to deliver high-quality results at all times in accordance with standards. Protects and keeps all patient and hospital information confidential. Accepts ownership for all tasks and responsibilities while improving the hospital's reputation. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: - High School Diploma or GED - Must have a minimum of two years clerical/or bookkeeping experience - 1-2 years of experience in a medical or healthcare office setting preferred - Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, accurate typing and use of ten key calculator. Knowledge of insurance guidelines and CPT; HCPS; and diagnosis codes preferred.
