Essential Duties:

This individual must be available to share night and weekend call back for urgent Information Systems services on a routine basis.


The Clinical Informatics Specialist shall act as a liaison between the hospital’s clinical areas, the Information Systems department and Administration. This includes the primary responsibility of determining the needs and requirements for clinical applications in acute and ambulatory healthcare settings. The Clinical Informatics Specialist will also lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of clinical systems. This individual will work with staff and physicians to optimize the utilization of clinical systems through education and training, quality outcomes, and providing support in accordance with organizational goals. Develops, modifies, and maintains training materials including instruction manuals, training checklists, handbooks, reference materials, computer tutorials, and multimedia visual aids. Provides onsite, group, remote, and individualize instruction to assure staff proficiency on practice management information system and electronic health record system use and their related workflows. Coordinates training schedule to support the hiring and training demands of the organization. This position will also monitor Meaningful Use requirements and assist with the reporting annually. Coordinates DSRIP activities to include data gathering and associated reporting requirements


  • Must be an LVN/RN or other licensed healthcare professional.
  • 3-5 years of relevant clinical experience preferred.
  • Experience with practice management or electronic health records systems preferred.
