POSITION SUMMARY

Seeking a Director of Radiology of a small critical access hospital in Pearsall, Texas.

Oversees radiology department, including additional outpatient facility, managing the budget, promotions within the department and the purchase of new technology. Responsible for planning the department's future growth, create operational plan each year and provide reports on the department and employee progress.

Follow up and resolution of patient complaints and staffing conflicts. In addition oversee radiology and patient care, the director may also network with outside sources to secure donors.

Manages delivery of health care service to accomplish diagnosis and treatment. Administers financial, physical and resources to provide medical services in radiologic sciences. Exercises professional judgment in performance of duties and maintains a demeanor complementary to medical ethics. Monitors departmental operations to assure compliance with governmental regulations and meet standards established by accrediting agencies.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

  1. Facilitates image data hospital wide
  2. Facilitates department’s quality assessment and improvement plan recognizing standards established by accrediting agencies.
  3. Prepares and monitors operations and capital expenditure budgets.
  4. Recommends and purchase capital equipment and physical plant improvements
  5. Employs, evaluates, counsels, and terminates individuals respecting established personnel policies.
  6. Provides for methods of recruitment, retention and salary adjustments for staff.
  7. Address and responds to concerns or grievances proffered by physicians, staff and patients.
  8. Oversees the general management operations of daily practice assuring prudent delegation of duties and responsibilities
  9. Maintains and may negotiate contracts to insure optimal operation of equipment and facilities monitoring of third party compliance.
  10. Serves as an administrative liaison and represents the department regarding institutional meetings, activities, external agencies and organizations.
  11. Reports on departmental progress, budget variances, productivity, objectives and operational issues.
  12. Recommends long and short-term goals, develops objectives and the framework for long range planning.
  13. Provides avenues for practical instruction, in-service, and continuing education concerning personnel, students, and other health care professionals.
  14. Develops and revises position description for personnel.
  15. Maintains knowledge of, observes and enforces the practice of Universal precautions.
  16. Pursues appropriate continuing education.
  17. Performs other tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION

  1. Practice of management and or administration
  2. Bachelor's degree or a combination of education and experience
  3. 5-7 years experience in Radiology
  4. 3-5 years experience in a Management/Director role (Preferred)
  5. Knowledge of Critical Access hospitals (Preferred)
  6. Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)
  7. Texas Department of State Health Services Certification as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT)
  8. Demonstrates a knowledge base and experience to successfully function within the position
