Visitor information

When a loved one is at Frio Regional Hospital, you want to be there. Your presence and well-wishes can lift that person's spirits. And your visit may even help someone dear to you along the road to recovery.

That's why we provide an environment that supports our patients' relationships with family and friends. And it's why we work to make each of our guests feel welcome.

Before you visit our Frio County hospital, here's what you should know about the services available to you and the steps you can take to keep your loved one safe.

Planning your hospital visit

You are welcome to visit our hospital until 9 p.m., seven days a week. We offer special amenities for families who need longer visits. Each of our private patient rooms includes a comfortable sleeper sofa for a family member to stay the night.

If you need to step away from your loved one's room, take advantage of the gathering space in our lobby. We have plenty of seating, and we offer televisions to keep you entertained. We also offer free Wi-Fi, so you can stay in touch with other friends and family members during your visit.

If you'd like a quiet space in which to gather your thoughts, visit our chapel. Here, people of all faiths and denominations can come for spiritual support. Located near the hospital's main lobby, our chapel is open 24 hours for prayer, meditation and meetings.

Our hospital cafeteria provides great dining options

When you need a bite to eat, stop by the Frio Regional Hospital Café, located in the southeast corner of the hospital. We have both indoor and outdoor seating options, and we're always open to the public.

Dining hours are:

  • Breakfast: 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
  • Lunch: 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

If you'd like lighter fare, vending machines in our emergency department waiting room provide a snack food option.

We appreciate your help in keeping our patients safe

Here are some things to keep in mind about our infection control policy, which helps ensure the health and safety of our patients and visiting guests:

  • Please do not visit the hospital if you're sick. Your loved one may appreciate a phone call instead!
  • Please remember to wash your hands before and after your visit. This simple yet effective step is the single best way to prevent the spread of infectious diseases, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
